Professional Development
TAFESA Production House is committed to the continuous improvement of its responsive, flexible, cost effective and quality service to TAFE SA.
In 2005 TAFESA Production House will extend it services and use its instructional design expertise to support development of similar expertise at the local level. To do this it will run workshops for teachers on the principles and practice of instructional design for independent learning. It is anticipated that by the end of the year these workshops will also be available online.
For larger projects it will propose workgroups appoint a local project coordinator/instructional designer. Mentoring on instructional design would be provided for this person within the context of the content being developed. This would also enable the local instructional designer to share the expertise and knowledge they gain with the individual teachers involved in content development.
The development of instructional design expertise at the local level would enable workgroups to respond with greater confidence, effectiveness and efficiency to the need for flexibility in the way they support student learning. No matter what level of technology is used to support learning, well structured, complete and accurate content and educationally sound instructional methodologies are the foundation.
